Confidentiality
Federal Law including Title 42 of the Code of Federal Regulations and HIPAA protects your privacy. All employees and volunteers of the Council are bound by these regulations. Under these regulations, Prevention Works must obtain your written consent before it can disclose information about you to anyone outside of our Agency except under the following circumstances:
- With a written consent of the client
- In a medical emergency where it is necessary to disclose information to medical personnel in order to make a second determination of appropriate emergency treatment
- Upon order of a court of competent jurisdiction
- Child abuse and/or neglect
- Crime or threats to commit crimes committed on agency premises or against agency staff
